A note on respect: TradeWars 2002, created by John Pritchett, is a genuine classic of BBS gaming and one of the most influential multiplayer games ever made. Sectorum was built as a tribute — developed with Pritchett's blessing and authorization to describe itself as a "spiritual successor inspired by TradeWars 2002." We didn't just rip the name. We earned the right to carry the torch.

Casual-friendly turn banking. In the original TradeWars 2002, unused turns were lost at the daily reset — miss a day and you fell behind. Sectorum banks your unused turns for up to 3 days, so players who can't log in every day don't get left in the dust. Log in every few days and you'll have a full 3-day turn reserve waiting. It's the same turn-based tension, without punishing real life.

The DNA That Carried Over

The things that made TradeWars great are the things Sectorum was built to preserve.

Sector-Based Navigation

Move through a galaxy one sector at a time. Every warp is a strategic decision — commit your turns or conserve them.

Port Trading Economy

The three commodities (Ore, Organics, Equipment) create an interlocking economy where supply and demand shift based on player activity.

Planet Colonization

Claim a planet, build colonies, and generate a passive income stream. Control the right planets and you control the galaxy.

Player vs Player

Attack ships, raid sectors, and blow up planets. The galaxy is competitive. Your neighbors remember every move you make.

Corporations

Team up with other players, share resources, and coordinate strategy. The best corporations in the galaxy dominate through coordination.

Turn-Based Tension

Every action costs turns. Managing your turn budget is core strategy — just like the original.

The Torch Has Been Passed.

TradeWars 2002 gave us the blueprint. Sectorum builds on it for the modern web. No telnet required.
